# TANRAIL ONE — PHASE 5.5
# IMPLEMENTATION REPORT

## 1. Overview
Phase 5.5 focused on Security Hardening, Policies, and Tenant Isolation for the Production and Event Management modules. This phase implemented the architectural changes identified in the pre-implementation security audit to prevent cross-tenant attacks, privilege escalation, and mutability bypasses.

## 2. Security Vulnerabilities Addressed

### Cross-Tenant & Cross-BU Reference Attacks
- **Production Service:** Validated that both source and destination `InventoryLocation`s provided for a `ProductionOrder` belong to the same Organization and Business Unit.
- **Event Booking Service:** Validated that the `Item`, `TaxCategory`, and `Branch` entities involved in a booking strictly belong to the same Organization and Business Unit as the booking.
- **Bill of Materials Service:** Validated that finished goods and ingredient items strictly match the Organization and Business Unit of the BOM.

### Privilege Escalation
- Injected robust capability checks using `hasPermissionTo()` within Domain Policies instead of the weak role-existence check (`roles()->exists()`).
- Added `manage-production` and `manage-events` permission validation across all mutative operations in `ProductionOrderPolicy`, `BillOfMaterialsPolicy`, and `EventBookingPolicy`.

### Immutability Bypass
- `ProductionOrderPolicy::update` and `delete` now correctly check the internal status of the order. Modifying or deleting a `COMPLETED` or `CANCELLED` production order is now blocked at the policy level.
- Refined `EventBookingPolicy` to ensure terminal state rules (like `delete` on `CONFIRMED`/`COMPLETED` bookings) fail safely.

## 3. Files Modified

## 4. Files Created

## 5. Security Control Results

- **Tenant Isolation:** PASS. Explicit validations correctly block Org/BU mismatches across models (Locations, Items, Tax Categories).
- **Authorization / Policies:** PASS. Extracted generic `$user->hasAccessToScope()` into an explicit `authorizeAction()` requiring granular capabilities (`manage-production`, `manage-events`).
- **Privilege Escalation:** PASS. Unprivileged users (with roles but no specific permissions) are safely denied access to `confirm`, `start`, `complete`, and `cancel` transitions.
- **Immutability:** PASS. Terminal records (Completed/Cancelled) cannot be modified or deleted, satisfying historical integrity requirements.
- **Inventory & GL Security:** PASS. Prior integrations remain fully isolated and securely gated by the hardened production capabilities.

## 6. Testing & Regression
A dedicated adversarial test suite (`Phase55SecurityHardeningTest`) was introduced to simulate deliberate attacks:
1. Cross-organization BOM attack.
2. Cross-organization Production Order Location attack.
3. Cross-Business-Unit Location attack.
4. Cross-organization Event Booking Customer attack.
5. Cross-organization Event Booking Package/Item attack.
6. Roleless user privilege escalation attack.
7. Cross-Business Unit capability authorization attack.
8. Completed Production Order mutation attack.
9. Completed Event Booking mutation attack.

**Results:**
- All 9 adversarial attacks were safely blocked, throwing either `CrossOrganizationException` or `AuthorizationException`.
- The full regression suite passed successfully.
- Code has been fully validated with Laravel Pint format checking.

## 7. Remaining Risks
None identified within the Phase 5 scope. Module security has reached production readiness.
